Bringing in some different bloodlines, we were thankful to Kelli Edell (Kelwyn Scottish Terriers) for approving this breeding. We attempted to breed Zeus and Chicory in the later Summer of 2016, but she didn't take. Pilar then personally escorted Chicory in February 2017 to the Kelwyn Kennels and in the early morning of April 22, 2017, Pilar drove Chicory to the Yorba Regional Animal Hospital where Dr. Fujioka and his staff helped bring a boy and a girl into the world via c-section. Unfortunately, on May 3rd we lost both puppies and await necropsy results from Cornell University. This was a devastating loss for us and for Chicory because she loves being a mom and the loss was very sudden and totally unexpected. Until full and conclusive results come in, signs point toward aspirated pneumonia as the cause of death in both puppies.
